Wilson (Tulsa), LaPoint (Detroit) lead teams to big wins, Player of Week honors
TAMPA, Florida -- The Tulsa FC Channel Cats might be one of the most improved teams in Major Arena Soccer League Women in 2025, and they have an award winner to prove it now.
Renee Wilson has been named the MASL W Offensive Player of the Week after she accounted for six points in the Channel Cats thir straight win to open the season. She has two goals and four assists in a 14-4 win over the OKC Ghosts. Wilson played six games last year for Tulsa and recorded just four points total.
Detroit City FC's Allison LaPoint has been named Goalkeeper of the Week. She was strong in goal against FC Berlin, who unleased a 27 shot attack, with "Le Rouge" holding on for a 6-4 win. In college, played goal for Central Michigan where she had 60 total appearances in her career, finishing with a 1.24 goals against average and .789 saves percentage.
