Shorthanded Sirens strike first in early-season showdown with Louisville

by MASL W STAFF

TAMPA, Florida -- Round one goes to the Cincinnati Sirens, despite the fact the  five-time national championship team found themselves a bit shorthanded to start the season.

With several key players missing Saturday who were part of those title teams, the Sirens still served notice they will be one of the team to beat, with new stars stepping forward -- namely in Mackenzie Kent and Lauren Donovan -- who fueled a big second-half to secure a 10-5 Cincinnati win.

Louisville won't have to wait too long to seek revenge. The next game for both teams will be against each other in Louisville on Dec. 13.
