Week 13: south scramble begins, contenders ICT Aztecs, KS Astras and Cincinnati in action

TAMPA, Florida -- Plenty of teams that will likely be in Detroit for the Major Arena Soccer League Women playoffs March 20-22 will be in action this week, including the start in earnest of a three-team scramble in the South Division.
Undefeated Dallas RPFC will be on the road for two against the once-beaten Atletico Monterrey, who at 4-1 actually sit in third place behind Texas Lone Star. who has played two more games than both RPFC and Monterrey. Those two teams aren't done with each other after this weekend, either, as they will play two against each other in Dallas next weekend too.


A number of other teams near or at the top of their respective divisions are in action this weekend as well -- although it won't be as busy at next weekend when 14 games are on the slate -- including the undefeated ICT Aztecs hosting the OKC Ghosts, the KS Astras hosting the Omaha Queens, and the Cincinnati Sirens hosting the Columbus Eagles. Also on the slate, a matchup between the Houston Bolt and Austin 512 FC and Youngstown traveling to meet the Columbus Eagles as part of the weekend fun as well.
Among the record 14-league games in one weekend Feb. 27 to March 1, RPFC and Monterey will rematch in Dallas, FC Berlin will be on the road for a pair in Ohio and the Astras and Queens will rematch in Omaha. Texas Lone Star will look to stay near the top of the South, too, as they host Austin 512 FC.
