TAMPA, Florida -- With 13 games, it was the busiest weekend ever in Major Arena Soccer League play, there were several teams that helped their playoff chances, with the league finals set for March 20-22 in Detroit.
Dallas RPFC was the weekend's biggest winner, taking a pair from a very good Monterrey Atletico squad, to earn a regular season South division title and trip to the post-season. Two additional division winners are set including the ICT Aztecs in the Heartland and Iowa Demon Hawks in the Midwest.
Texas Lone Star is closing in on a spot after a two-win weekend, and FC Berlin is eyeing the post season as well after sweeping two in Ohio. Cincinnati kept pace with Louisville with its win over Columbus, and will host Louisville on Sunday. If the Sirens win in regulation, they would take the Great Lakes South title.
Omaha had big wins against the KS Astras this past weekend, while Detroit and the Side FC OKC Cyclones also came home winners.
In addition to the Louisville v. CIncy showdown, RPFC and Lone Star will have an all Dallas area battle as the final playoff spots will be finally settled on Sunday night.
