Remaining Major Arena Soccer League leadership group named
TAMPA, Florida – Major Arena Soccer League Women Co-Commissioners Chris Economides and Mark Litton have filled out the remainder of the MASL W leadership team for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
Major Arena Soccer League Women was created with the unification of the former Premier Arena Soccer League and MASL 3, where the former PASL men's team will play. The former PASL women's league is now MASL W, resulting in some 80 teams from coast-to-coast and in two countries will be under the Major Arena Soccer League brand in four different leagues this coming season.
Serving as President will be Josh Auden, owner of the Youngstown Knighthawks, one of many former PASL teams that will come under the Major Arena Soccer League umbrella for the 2024-25 season. The Ohio based team was established a decade ago.
Auden will be most involved in the business and sponsorship side of MASL W, and serves in the same role for MASL 3. Previously, former Wichita Wings defender Brian Cushing was named as MASL W's Deputy Commissioner, and is also deputy commissioner for MASL 3.
Rounding out the league's new leadership team is Graeme Florance -- a nine-year veteran of the MASL who also works as head of officials for MASL 2 and MASL 3 -- and Brian Ackley, who spent seven seasons as the Director of Broadcast and Media Relations for the MASL Florida Tropics. He will serve in the same role for MASL W. and currently does so as well for MASL 2 and MASL 3.
Chris Hanlon will be MASL W's Rules Coordinator and Rob Fereday – both of whom are longtime veteran officials in the pro game both in the outdoor and indoor game – will be the Referee Assignor. Additionally, both serve in the same capacity for MASL 3.
More information on each member of the leadership team can be found under the staff link at www.maslw.com.
“It is an outstanding group of individuals who are dedicated to the sport, and its responsible, efficient and conscientious growth,” Economides said. “Bringing together such a talented and respected assembly of soccer pros is a great first step to ensuring that MASL W gets the proper attention and support it deserves.”
A full list of all teams participating in MASL W will be released later this fall, along with final division assignments and schedules..
