Player of Week honorees give lift to leaders in Great Lakes North and South divisions
TAMPA, Florida -- Division winners in Major Arena Soccer League Women don't get there by accident, which is why two division leaders have Player of the Week honorees on their rosters for Week 14.
Leslie Razo of Dallas RPFC is the Offensive Player of the Week. Razo, who played at Seminole State College, scored one of the biggest goals of the season in lifting RPFC over Monterrey in overtime in battle of two of the best teams in the South. The following day, again against Monterrey, she helped insure a sweep and a second-straight trip to the playoffs in scoring three goals in a 9-5 win over Monterrey.
Williams was in net for three quarter in posting a shutout for Detroit, who can clinch a Great Lakes Division title on the final weekend of the regular season with a win over Columbus. She played three quarters in turning in the clean sheet along with teammate Becca Przybylo. Detroit will host the MASL W Playoffs March 20-22 at the Detroit City Fieldhouse.
