TAMPA, Florida – Major Arena Soccer League Women will be welcoming a little “royalty” for the 2024-25 season when the Omaha Queens make their debut just prior to the new year.

The Queens will play a 10-game regular season schedule, with five home games at 7,900 seat Baxter Arena in Omaha. Their opener is Dec. 28 against the Wichita Lady Luck at Park City Arena in Wichita with the home opener set a week later on Saturday, January 4 at 4 p.m, against the Wichita Aero. All home games will be doubleheaders with their parent team, the Omaha Kings, who won the 2020-21 MASL 3 championship and a MASL 2 conference crown in 2021-22.

Owners Emmanuel and Natalie Viel are no strangers to the indoor game, having owned and operated the Kings since, 2019,  a period which also included divisional and conference championships.

"The Queens are more than just a soccer team – they represent a movement," said Natalie Viel, CMO and co-founder of the Omaha Kings and Queens. "Women's professional sports are critical in creating equal opportunities for female athletes to showcase their talent. We’re thrilled to be a part of this journey and are committed to building something that will empower and elevate women's sports in Omaha."

Emmanuel Viel said he has been excited most by how the players have already bought into the team and the city.

“They have literally already been the most incredible group of women,” he said. “It's almost unreal how they have embraced the idea and the goals of the Queens, and made it their mission to make this a success. They want to make Omaha proud, and their work on the field and in the community has almost been unreal.”

MASL W Commissioner Chris Economides said the Queens make a great addition to the league.

“We know with their past MASL experience in Omaha with the Kings, that the Queens will be well run, very competitive out of the gate, and a real asset for the city and the league,” Economides noted. “They have a first-class facility, a track record of success on and off the field, and a vision to grow indoor soccer responsibly and professionally. The sport can use more owners and teams like the Queens.”
