MASL W welcomes Texas Lone Star S.C., seeking bold, visionary and dynamic presence

DALLAS, Texas— The Major Arena Soccer League Women has announced the launch of an exciting new franchise: Texas Lone Star S.C., a club that represents the future of professional women’s indoor soccer through youthful energy, entrepreneurial vision, and community-driven leadership.

Led by a diverse and dynamic ownership group, Texas Lone Star S.C. is already making waves in the North Texas sports landscape, signaling a new chapter in the MASL’s mission to elevate women’s arena soccer across the country.

“This ownership group brings a fresh and powerful perspective to the league,” said MASL Commissioner Chris Economides. “Their combined experience in sports, business, law, fitness, and community outreach is second to none. With leaders like these behind Texas Lone Star, we expect great things both on and off the field.”

Included in the ownership group is Juan (Nani) Castillo, and entrepreneur and community leader and founder of of SLMV (Self Motive)

Castillo is a well-known name in the Dallas fitness and performance scene. He is the owner of SLMV, SLMV Elite Performance, SLMV Gym, and a Hair Studio located in Red Oak, Texas. Castillo has outfitted athletes across all levels with elite apparel and training resources. His companies have supported women’s teams and leagues throughout North Texas, as well as youth soccer programs.

“I remember attending Texas Outlaws games and supporting countless women’s teams through our gear,” said Castillo, “After meeting Brad Namdar at an Outlaws game, I realized how much passion and effort goes into building a successful team. I also realized there is a huge opportunity  with all the talent located in North Texas that sometimes doesn’t get recognized. That inspired me, as well as Brad inspired me, to pursue one of my lifelong dreams, to build a program that would showcase talented players around the DFW area, and build a professional sports team along  with other great visionaries like Brad and Pia.”

Ryan Moore, an attorney and advocate for women’s empowerment and community engagement, is also part of the ownership group.

Moore, is a rising legal mind and the owner of his own law firm, located in Dallas, Texas. He joins the ownership group with a commitment to advocacy, empowerment, and diversity. Though new to soccer, Moore quickly became a believer after witnessing the atmosphere at Texas Outlaws games under Namdar’s leadership.

“I’ve never been known as a soccer fan,” Moore admitted, “…but after attending MASL games in Mesquite, that changed everything for me. The energy, the fans, and overall environment,  showed me the impact a sports program can have in a community.”

Also in the leadership group is Pia Namdar, founder of Adelante Texas, and a former NCAA athlete who continues to be a champion for women in sports,

Born and raised in Mexico, Pia is a former NCAA Division I athlete, as she was a swimmer at SMU (captain her senior year), and is the founder of Adelante Texas. Pia brings a strong voice for women’s empowerment and leadership to the table. Her focus is clear: helping female athletes transition and thrive after college sports.

“I’ve always been passionate about supporting women in sports, especially those looking for their next chapter after college,” said Pia. “As a Latina, it’s important for me to bring representation and my vision to the MASLW, and as a former college athlete, I want to help create a platform where female athletes can continue to compete and inspire the next generation. And ownership is one way to make sure that happens.”

Brad Namdar  is a sports executive, business development leader and soccer leader in the metroplex.

He is returning to the MASL this season, this time with a new title, Owner.  Namdar brings a wealth of experience in the game of soccer (both indoor and outdoor) as he served as the general manager and sporting director for Texas Outlaws, where under his tenure he led the organization to its most successful season to date. Known as one of the youngest and most respected sports executives in the league, his return has been welcomed with open arms.

“Brad coming into the league as an owner is a huge asset for not just us but for the entire MASL,” said Commissioner Economides. “He’s worn every hat, from player, coach, GM, and has helped build top-tier soccer programs at every level.”

Namdar, who was hand-picked by Mehrdad Moayedi in 2023 to lead the Texas Outlaws, now turns his focus to building Texas Lone Star S.C. from the ground up.

“It’s exciting to return as an owner, but even more exciting is the opportunity to build something again,” said Namdar, “ It is important for our club to display the values of a winning program, build relationships that support for the betterment of the league, and ultimately, help the league sustain a standard of excellence in the women's league.”

Club officials noted that Texas Lone Star S.C. is more than just another team, it’s a movement. A movement that is rooted in the community, backed by an ownership group that reflects the heart of Dallas-Fort Worth. The new franchise aims to provide a platform for women athletes to thrive, fans to connect with the team, and to grow the sport in meaningful ways.
