Week 5: Rematches, debut for Detroit City, Iowa Demon Hawks highlight busy slate

TAMPA, Florida -- Two of the highly anticipated debuts in Major Arena Soccer League Women come t his weekend as Detroit City FC and the Iowa Demon Hawks start their 2025-26 seasons.

Detroit City, which entertains sold out crowds at their cozy but loud Detroit City Fieldhouse, will be on the road across the border to Toronto to meet FC Berlin. "Le Rouge" was 10-0 last year and fell in the league championship game.

Meanwhile, the Demon Hawks are on the road for an All Iowa matchup against the Raptors in Cedar Rapids. The Hawks advanced to the league semifinals last year, and in the offseason added two of the best players off the Chihuahua Savage's championship roster to immediately brand them as one of the teams to beat in 2025-26 as well. 

There are a number of other matchups that could produce fireworks, including the Columbus Eagles hosting the Louisville Triumph in a rematch and the Wichita Lady Luck hosting the Wichita Aero in another rematch from earlier this season.  A third rematch as the Omaha Queens meeting the Iowa Raptors. And in a battle of Texas, Houston Indoor Club is at Austin 512 FC to round out the schedule.
