History makers in Great Lakes North, Heartland Divisions are Players of Week
TAMPA, Florida -- Two players that both made some history last weekend have been named Major Arena Soccer League Women Players of the Week for Week 15.
Detroit netminder Kerstyn Williams became the first netminder in the league's two years of play to post back-to-back shutouts to win Goalkeeper of the Week honors two weeks in a row now. One clean sheet is considered a rare feat in the sport, and two in a row is remarkable on many levels. Leading her team to a win over the Columbus Eagles was particularly meaningful as it clinched the Great Lake North division regular season title for Detroit City FC, which will host the league playoffs March 20-22 at the Detroit City Fieldhouse.
Ericka Boleski tied a team record for the Wichita Aero with five goals in their win over the OKC Ghosts to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors. She also picked up an assist as the Aero finished their regular season as one of the league's most dramatically improved teams. They were 0-9-1 in 2024-25 and finished their season at 6-3-1 with the triumph last weekend.
