Dec. 6 kickoff in Great Lakes North features Detroit City at Youngstown Nighthawks

TAMPA, Florida -- A finalist in last year's playoffs, Detroit City FC will help open the Great Lakes North Division schedule on Saturday, December 6, when they travel to Youngstown to meet the Nighthawks.

One of the top franchise in the league that regularly plays to standing room only crowds in their Fieldhouse, Detroit completed a perfect 10-0 regular season last year, and advanced to the league's championship game where they fell to the Chihuahua Savage.

In a unique twist this year, teams in the North will also have some of their 10 regular season games against teams from the Great Lakes South to promote regional and traditional rivalries between teams in both divisions.

The additional two teams in the Great Lakes North are FC Berlin, the league's first Canadian based team out of Kitchener, Ontario, and Indiana United.

Detroit will have its anticipated home opener on Saturday, January 3 against FC Berlin, who will be announcing their home slate in a few weeks. Indiana United's home opener will be Saturday, January 17 also against FC Berlin.
